The Minnesota Timberwolves will once again be without small forward Andrew Wiggins on Saturday when they take on the Houston Rockets.

Wiggins is still with his family, as his grandmother passed away recently: The swingman didn't play on Friday versus the Washington Wizards, a game the Timberwolves lost.

Timberwolves fans everywhere are sending their prayers to Wiggins right now. This must be a tough time for Wiggins and his family.

On the basketball court, Wiggins appears to be finally turning the corner. Wiggins is averaging a career-high 25.9 points per game while shooting an efficient 47.8 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 73.6 percent from the free-throw line.

Last season was a nightmare for Wiggins, who was booed at home games multiple times. The swingman averaged 18.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 41.2 percent from the floor, 33.9 percent from the 3-point line and 69.9 percent from the charity stripe.

However, under head coach Ryan Saunders, Wiggins looks more comfortable on the court and is starting to live up to the hype of being a number one overall pick.

The Timberwolves are 7-5 on the young season thanks to Wiggins’ stellar play. All-Star center Karl-Anthony Towns will have to carry the load on offense on Saturday against the Rockets sans Wiggins. KAT is putting up 26.8 points and 11.8 rebounds on the season.
