Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is never short on confidence. So much so, that the 20-year-old recently made an audacious, Michael Jordan-sized claim that should scare LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and the rest of the NBA.

Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch revealed that Edwards literally grew taller during the offseason. Apparently, Minnesota's first overall pick last year grew two inches in the summer, which now makes him 6-foot-6. According to Finch, this is where Edwards drew his MJ comparison from:

“He told me ‘don't let me get to 6-6 or I'll be Michael Jordan,'” Finch said, via Chris Hine of the Star Tribune.

As mentioned previously, self-confidence is not something Anthony Edwards lacks. Michael Jordan, who also stands 6-foot-6, is considered by many as the greatest player of all time, and apparently, the Timberwolves star believes that he should be mentioned in the same breath as His Airness. Edwards might have been half-kidding, but this is one of those things you don't really joke about.

For what it's worth, Edwards doesn't believe that MJ is the GOAT. If you're thinking LeBron James, then you're wrong too. In his mind, the Timberwolves stud has no doubt that Kevin Durant is the greatest player of all time.

KD is listed at 6-foot-10, so Edwards still has quite a ways to go before he's able to compare himself to the Brooklyn Nets star—at least when it comes to height. Then again, Edwards is still just 20 years old, so maybe he freakishly grows four more inches in the next year? Who knows, right?
