Anthony Edwards has exploded onto the scene in his second year in the league. The 20-year-old is the second-leading scorer on the Minnesota Timberwolves with 22.0 points per game. His improvements in his scoring efficiency have helped the Wolves look like dark-horse playoff contenders. Unfortunately for Minnesota, Edwards may face his first roadblock of the season.

Minnesota announced that Edwards will be listed as questionable to play tomorrow against the Washington Wizards due to flu-like symptoms. Edwards joins teammates Jaden McDaniels and Jarred Vanderbilt on the list of players who are questionable to play for the same reason.

Edwards missing this game would be the first missed game of his professional career. His absence would be a big blow for the Wolves as they square off against a surprisingly good Wizards team. Washington is 13-8 on the season but just 3-5 over their last eight games. Minnesota, who is 7-1 in their last eight games, could steal a victory on the road.

Minnesota is 11-10 on the season, which has them as the Western Conference's sixth seed as of Tuesday. It has been a promising start for the Timberwolves, who were largely expected to be among the worst teams in the conference. Their ability to retain their high placement in the standings will be dependent on many things, notably how much time (if any) Edwards misses.

If Edwards has to miss the game, the Timberwolves will still have effective scorers to lean on in Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell. Towns is the team's leading scorer and Russell has been good this season, especially in clutch situations.
