In what has got to be one of the most insane moments of the 2021 NBA season, second-year ascending star Anthony Edwards threw down an insane dunk over Heat guard Gabe Vincent. The video will be put on Edwards' highlight reel for the rest of his career–but the dunk did not count. The foul was called on him and not on Vincent, taking a bit of the luster off of the spectacular play.

Still, the hangtime alone is enough to make an NFL punter proud, and the fact that he finished the monster slam was enough to bring fans out of their seats. Edwards has been prone to that already in his young career. After averaging 20 points per game as a rookie, Edwards is now up to 22 points per game as a sophomore to go along with the six rebounds and three assists that he brings on a nightly basis.

Sitting at just 8-9 on the year, it seems the improvement in Edwards' game has not amounted to many more wins for the franchise. They are in a better spot than they were in at this point last year so that is something to build off. The team is also coming off of a big win, as despite Edwards getting called for the foul on the said play, the Timberwolves were able to get a big win over the Miami Heat, who are a top contender in the Eastern Conference. Up next for Edwards and the Timberwolves is a road game on Friday against the Charlotte Hornets.
