Anthony Edwards just fired some shots towards RJ Barrett after the Minnesota Timberwolves escaped with a 102-101 win at home against the New York Knicks on Wednesday.

The Knicks were down by one and had the ball with five seconds left. After the Timberwolves denied Julius Randle, the ball went to Barrett and Minnesota was more than happy with the results–at least according to their rookie.

“Gladly, RJ Barrett caught it and if he would have made the shot, we would live with it,” Edwards said. “That's who we want taking that shot. We didn't want anybody else taking it.”

We need some salt on our popcorn, please!

In fairness to the Timberwolves rookie, he was again marvelous on as he led the team to just their seventh home win this season. Anthony Edwards put up a valiant effort against New York, leading the way by stuffing the stat sheet with 24 points, two boards, three assists, three steals and three blocks.

“I gotta whole lot of gears in me man,” Edwards added. “The ones that ya'll saw today, that's not it. That's just a little bit of it. There's more to come”

The youngster was definitely proud of their performance against the Knicks, and he should be. Wins have been few and far between for the Timberwolves all season, but the development of their lottery pick has been a positive note for the franchise. Edwards has been unleashed this second half of the season, and Minnesota is hoping that he can lock in and tap into all his gears so they can try to salvage their wobbly 2020-21 campaign.
