Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star point guard D'Angelo Russell didn't practice on Saturday.

The Timberwolves are going to have planned rest days for Russell moving forward.

Minnesota head coach Ryan Saunders is unsure if Russell will play on Sunday against the Denver Nuggets:

The Timberwolves are 16-38 on the season. They are in 14th place in the Western Conference standings.

Russell is averaging 22.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 9.7 assists in three games with the Timberwolves. He's shooting 41.2 percent from the field, 34.6 percent from beyond the arc and 93.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Timberwolves might as well rest Russell and tank the rest of the season. Star Karl-Anthony Towns is going to be out for a while after fracturing his wrist anyway.
