Players who get traded often mark their first game against their former team on their calendars. Sometimes, there may even be some ill will towards the team that dealt them.

But for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Dario Saric, he's got nothing but love for his former team, the Philadelphia 76ers:

“I didn’t trade myself. I never asked to leave,” Saric said per Sarah Todd of philly.com. “Philadelphia was my first NBA home. It always will be.”

Dario Saric will make his first return to the Wells Fargo Center as a member of the opposing team on Tuesday night. He was included in the deal that ended the Jimmy Butler saga in Minnesota and sent the disgruntled star to Philadelphia.

Saric played over two seasons in Philadelphia. In that short period if time, the fans over in the City of Brotherly Love grew fond of the Croatian forward.

The Homie had shown constant improvement over his first two seasons with the Sixers, but struggled out of the gates in his third campaign with them. In his 13 games with Philly this year, his scoring and efficiency both regressed after taking a leap from Year 1 to Year 2.

This may have been one of the reasons why Philadelphia decided to speed up The Process by adding Jimmy Butler to its budding superstar duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. Unfortunately for Dario Saric, he, along with Robert Covington, were the expendable pieces of what seemed to be the core of this emerging Sixers squad.

Still, his sour ending with Philadelphia did not take away the love he has for the city and its fans. Sixers fans will surely shower him with love when he enters the court on Tuesday night.
