Former NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) Derrick Rose is set to make his Minnesota debut this Sunday as the Timberwolves take on the Golden State Warriors at the Target Center.

The 29-year-old Rose who signed with the Timberwolves for the rest of the season after being waived by the Utah Jazz participated in the player warm-ups in their 117-109 loss to the Boston Celtics last Thursday but decided to sit out the game.

But Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau has given Rose the green light in their game against the Warriors as they try to solidify their hold of the sixth spot in the Western Conference.

ESPN's Nick Friedell tweets that Thibodeau is expecting Rose to be a hundred percent next game as they find a way to solve the puzzle that is the Warriors who have had their number this season.

In their past meetings this season, Golden State has always gotten the better of the Timberwolves beating them twice this season, winning over the latter 125-101 in November and 126-113 last January.

“Thibs says Derrick Rose is available to play tomorrow vs. Warriors. Thibs says if there is a situation that Rose can help the team he will play him”

The Timberwolves currently sport a 38-29 (win-loss) slate and just half a game ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference while the Warriors who are in the second spot with a 51-15 record eye to bounce back after losing to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.
