Minnesota Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose has revived his career after many assumed the youngest MVP in league history had played his last quality ball years ago.

Rose once again showed the world that he still has plenty of gas in the tank on Monday night, when it took him just 12 minutes to record a double-double against the Sacramento Kings.

In the first half of the game, Rose recorded 10 points, 10 assists, and two rebounds to lead his team out to a massive 74-44 lead.

The Chicago native has played excellent ball for the Timberwolves since being let go by the Cleveland Cavaliers midway through last season.

Derrick Rose has reinvented his game, now that the explosive athleticism that was his trademark has decreased significantly.

Now, Rose focuses much more on his three-point shot. Surprisingly, he is among the top three-point shooters in the league through the first third of the season. This has allowed him to gain back the extra step he lost as defenders have to respect his range.

So far, he has posted averages of 18.7 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game to go along with 50 percent shooting from the field.

These numbers are impressive enough to have some Minnesota fans clamoring for Rose to start, even when current starter Jeff Teague returns from injury.

It's heart-warming to see Derrick Rose immerge from one of the toughest journeys a man can face and still hold his own and then some against the best basketball players in the world. It would be great to see Rose keep up this play for a few seasons, and perhaps even make some playoff appearances in the future.
