In line with his amazing season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Derrick Rose just reached another remarkable milestone in his tumultuous NBA career. The 30-year-old veteran recently passed the 10,000-point mark, but despite the astounding accomplishment, Rose admitted that it has yet to sink in.

“I probably won’t really fully understand until I get done playing,” Rose said, per Chris Hine of the Star Tribune.

Rose went on to explain that while he does appreciate the gravity of his recent feat, the fact of the matter is that he has other, more meaningful barometers to measure how much he has achieved in his career.

“Even if I didn’t reach the 10,000 or the 3,000, I know my career and what my imprint is on the league,” he added. “I know how much I meant to the game when I was in my prime, how much I changed the game.”

From someone else, this would probably sound overly-confident and self-possessed. However, this is the youngest ever MVP winner who's talking here, so it's certainly hard to argue about Rose's statement.

In true Rose fashion, he ended by saying that he's far from done.

“The accolades are cool, but I still have a lot left,” Rose concluded.

Reaching 10,000 points is definitely a noteworthy accomplishment, but Rose obviously believes that  his story is far from over. We've already doubted him in the past, and we have been proven wrong, so it would be in our best interest to take his word for it when he says that there's still a lot left in the tank.
