During the 2010-11 season, Derrick Rose won the MVP award with the Chicago Bulls, becoming the youngest player in NBA history to win the award (22-years-old). Rose averaged 25.0 points, 4.1 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game that season and led the Bulls to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

After winning the award, though, Derrick Rose suffered four knee injuries which robbed him of his basketball prime and athleticism. As a result, Rose wasn't able to put up elite numbers again. He averaged 17.7 points during the 2014-15 season and 18.0 during the 2016-17 campaign, but his fans always wanted more, which is unfair since Rose has undergone four knee surgeries.

This year with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Derrick Rose is showing the fruit of his labor. This past summer was the first offseason in a long time where Rose didn't have to rehab an injury. The Chicago native was able to work on his game, particularly his 3-point shot, and the returns are amazing.

Rose scored a whopping 50 points against the Utah Jazz on Halloween and, entering Sunday, is putting up similar numbers to his MVP season, per 36 minutes.

Derrick Rose, per 36 minutes:

MVP Season: 2010-11: 24-7-4, 45% FG, 33% 3FG

2018-19: 23-6-5, 47% FG, 46% 3FG

Entering Sunday, Derrick Rose is averaging 19.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists off the Timberwolves’ bench. The former league MVP is shooting 49.2 percent from the field, 47.8 percent from beyond the arc and 85.5 percent from the free-throw line. When he's healthy, Rose is still one of the best players in the NBA and he's showing that this season.
