Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose may have just turned 30 years old, but he certainly isn't showing any signs of regression this season. In fact, it's just the opposite. The former Memphis Tiger says he feels as good as he did five or six year ago.

Rose has endured a slough of injuries over the course of his career. This season, however, the former league MVP is playing with a renewed confidence.

“I feel the same,” Derrick Rose told Ryan Ward of Clutch Points following Wednesday night's loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. “I feel the same now like I felt 5-6 years ago. Like I said, it was just opportunity, getting my bounce back, and having a coach that believes in me. That's pretty much it.

“I know how hard I work on everything,” Rose added. “It's just showing now. My rhythm is coming.”

Rose has now posted two outstanding games this season. In a 128-125 victory over the Utah Jazz on November 1st, the Chicago native racked up 50 points, setting a new career-high. And in Wednesday's loss to the Lakers, Rose tallied 31 points in 37 minutes of action.

In his 11 appearances with the Timberwolves this season, Rose has recorded averages of 18.6 points on 46.1 percent shooting from the field (46.2 percent from beyond the arc), 4.6 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 28.7 minutes per outing.

Rose and the Timberwolves will be back in action on Friday night, when they'll travel to Sacramento for a match-up against the Kings. Tip-off inside the Golden 1 Center is set for 10:00 p.m. EST.
