After the Minnesota Timberwolves got destroyed by the Philadelphia 76ers by a whopping 42 points on Tuesday, point guard Derrick Rose and power forward Taj Gibson emotionally challenged the locker room, according to Jackie MacMullan of ESPN.

Tuesday was the first time the Timberwolves faced off against Jimmy Butler since the trade, and the Sixers just had their way with Minnesota, leaving Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson upset in the postgame locker room.

A visibly distraught Rose dressed quietly, politely begging off comment. Teammates reported that both Rose and Taj Gibson emotionally challenged the locker room following the embarrassing loss.

It appeared no one on the Timberwolves, particularly All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns and small forward Andrew Wiggins, wanted anything to do with the much-anticipated game versus Butler. It wasn't a good look at all for Minnesota. The loss and the performance essentially proved that Butler was right the whole time about Towns and Wiggins.

Towns finished with just 13 points, while Wiggins scored 12. Derrick Rose led the Timberwolves in scoring off the bench, tallying 15 points in 21 minutes, and Taj Gibson chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.

We'll see how Minnesota responds to the embarrassing loss on Friday when they host the San Antonio Spurs. The Timberwolves are 1-2 against San Antonio this season.
