Earlier, it was reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves and big man Karl-Anthony Towns may not be seeing each other eye to eye. This was an assumption Zach Lowe and Brian Windhorst divulged during an episode of The Lowe Post in which the two tickled the imagination of their listeners by insinuating that the Timberwolves and Towns may have strained their relationship following a letdown season and an early playoff exit.

Windhorst also believed that a trade involving Towns is something that’s not entirely out of the picture in this offseason. It’s possible, and based on how Windhorst tells it, probably closer to reality than what most people think.

Enter Phoenix Suns hotshot Devin Booker and Chicago Bulls high-flying guard Zach LaVine, who immediately took to Twitter to react to the surprising rumor that Karl-Anthony Towns could be moved.

An emoji sometimes is worth a thousand words. In this case, it’s worth a significant amount of assets if Booker’s and LaVine’s teams intend to extricate Towns out of Minnesota.

Like Towns, Devin Booker is a former Kentucky Wildcat, while Zach LaVine used to play alongside the big man in Minnesota before he was shipped to Chicago last year.

Towns still has a year left on his current deal with Minnesota before becoming a restricted free agent in 2019. If other teams are sensing that Towns is growing unhappy in the Twin City, then it’s probably a good time for them to send proposals to the Timberwolves. Still, at the end of the day, these are all just speculations.

Towns finished the 2017-18 season with averages of 21.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game while also playing in all 82 regular season games. He shot 54.5 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from distance.
