Just hours into his appointment as the Minnesota Timberwolves' new president for basketball operations, Gersson Rosas is not wasting any time in fulfilling his role for the team. At the very top of his list are the decisions that need to be made on the futures of interim head coach Ryan Saunders and current team general manager Scott Layden.

According to Rosas, he is fully aware of the situation at hand, and is currently making sure that he has all the bases covered prior to making a decision.

Rosas admitted that these personnel decisions will be daunting, but he also did not fail to recognize all that Saunders and Layden have done for the team.

Saunders took over the role as the team's head coach this season after the Wolves parted ways with former coach and team president Tom Thibodeau.

He has since done a commendable job — all things considered — but there are still some question marks whether the rookie coach has enough experience to bring the team to the next level.

On the other hand, Layden has been with the organization since 2016, and he worked closely with Thibodeau during their time together. However, with coach Thibs already out of the picture, Rosas might be looking to do a complete overhaul on the team's front office, putting Layden at a very fragile situation.

Whatever the case may be, Rosas will have some tough decisions to make within the next couple of weeks, and it is definitely going to be an extremely busy summer for the Timberwolves.
