Timberwolves’ Gersson Rosas was caught on camera having affair at Minnesota United FC game
The Minnesota Timberwolves decided to part ways with their president of basketball operations Gerssan Rosas on Wednesday in a shocking move. While many believed the decision came down to the Timberwolves’ desire to shake things up in order to finally make the postseason, he was actually fired because he was having an affair with a staffer within the organization.
Per Bleacher Report, Rosas was foolish enough to attend a Minnesota United game with her, despite both being married:
Rosas and the woman, each of whom is married, were seen kissing in a suite during a Minnesota United FC game last Saturday at Allianz Field, sources said. The soccer club was told to reserve luxury seating for several Timberwolves players and personnel, including assistant coach Pablo Prigioni. Two seats were filled by Rosas and the staffer.
Those pictures have been obtained by Bleacher Report. One photograph is a close-up shot, clearly showing Rosas and the woman sitting beside one another in light blue cushioned seats, behind the suite’s protective plexiglass. A second photograph follows, where the two have leaned towards one another for a romantic embrace.
Yikes. Talk about putting your foot in your mouth. The Timberwolves quickly got wind of the situation and made a change. In the process, Minnesota promoted Sachin Gupta to Rosas’ position, making him the first-ever Indian-American to run an NBA organization.
Rosas joined the Timberwolves in 2019 after holding an executive position with the Houston Rockets. Who knows what his next move will be, but this whole saga will likely make it tough for him to get another job in the league for the time being.
