Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor was at the team's practice facility Sunday and addressed the players amid the Jimmy Butler drama, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

Butler was at practice as well. There is currently no deal for Butler, who requested a trade almost four weeks ago. Per Krawczynski's report, Taylor was seen smiling and laughing with head coach/president Tom Thibodeau and general manager Scott Layden after practice ended.

“Four days after the scene at practice, there is still no deal imminent for Butler. So Taylor, who has often interjected himself personally in tense moments for his franchise, made the drive up to try to open some lines of communication that were in danger of being permanently closed. Taylor also addressed the team, sources said, and was seen smiling and laughing with Thibodeau and Layden after practice.”

The Timberwolves open the regular season on Oct. 17 on the road against the San Antonio Spurs. Unless Glen Taylor is able to trade Jimmy Butler before then, the four-time All-Star will be with the team and in the starting lineup versus the Spurs.

All indications are Jimmy Butler still wants out of Minnesota, and Glen Taylor will honor his request as long as the Timberwolves get a solid return for the 29-year-old swingman.
