After an exhaustive search, the Minnesota Timberwolves have finally settled on the man they will task to lead the way for the team for the immediate future. The Wolves recently announced the hiring of Gersson Rosas as the team's new president for basketball operations, a decision that was praised by team owner Glen Taylor during Rosas' introductory press conference on Monday:

There were a number of other noteworthy names on Minnesota's shortlist, but as it turns out, Rosas held the edge among all the candidates. As proven by his statement here, Taylor is obviously delighted with the signing of Rosas.

Timberwolves CEO Ethan Casson was on the same boat, as he also shared his excitement for what's ahead for the team:

Now that the Wolves have this major hurdle out of the way, the team can now start to focus on rebuilding their team for the upcoming season.

For starters, Rosas will need to make some tough decisions in terms of the expiring deals of a number of veterans on the team. Derrick Rose, Taj Gibson, Jerryd Bayless, Anthony Tolliver, Luol Deng, and Tyus Jones are all going to be unrestricted free agents this summer, and Minnesota will likely be parting ways with a number of these players.

Notably, star point guard Jeff Teague and 25-year-old forward Dario Saric will be entering the final year of their respective deals next season, so Minnesota will also need to look into extending the contracts of these two guys.

It will be a baptism by fire for Rosas, but based on how much confidence the team's top executives have on him, he looks to be the right man for the task at hand.
