This past summer saw plenty of movement across the league with much star power finding new homes in the Western Conference.

It has a created a huge buzz around how stacked the West has become with several teams holding the potential to make noise in the playoffs. During a recent interview with Jerry Zgoda of The Star Tribune, two-time Sixth Man of the Year Jamal Crawford spoke to how loaded the conference has become.

“That’s crazy,” Timberwolves 18-year veteran Jamal Crawford said. “It’s an interesting time. I thought the West was tough when I came over [to the L.A. Clippers] five, six years ago. It’s, like, unbelievable right now.”

Crawford has joined one of the teams in the Minnesota Timberwolves that has made major moves in the offseason to put themselves in the picture as a possible title contender. The Timberwolves also added other proven players in All-Star forward Jimmy Butler, former All-Star guard Jeff Teague, and big man Taj Gibson to the mix alongside rising stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.

Beyond Minnesota, the Oklahoma City Thunder acquired a pair of All-Stars in Paul George and Carmelo Anthony to play with reigning league MVP Russell Westbrook. Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets traded for All-Star point guard Chris Paul to pair alongside James Harden. This is not forgetting to mention that the defending champion Golden State Warriors were able to keep almost their entire team together via free agency this past summer.

All of this could shape up to what could be an exciting season with plenty of surprises in store in the Western Conference in what may be the most talented group of teams that the league has seen.
