NBA journeyman Jamal Crawford remains to be one of the most sought-after names in the free agent market today. The 38-year-old is currently attracting interest from several teams, and the former Minnesota Timberwolves guard's future remains completely in his hands.

However, Crawford has made it perfectly clear that his top priority will be to find a team that can offer him a good fit talent-wise. The 18-year veteran spoke with Percy Allen of The Seattle Times and shared his views on the matter.

“Fit is first and foremost when I’m thinking about where I’ll play next,” said Crawford, who wants to play another 2-3 years. “Last year, I may have made the mistake of not thinking fit all the way through. You look at my career, when the fit was right, I contributed on the court.”

Crawford is referring to his one-year stint with the Timberwolves last season. Last year was one of the worst for the three-time Sixth Man of the Year winner. In terms of his statistical output, he averaged 10.3 points, 1.3 three-pointers, 1.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 0.5 steals per game in 20.7 minutes off the bench. The last time Crawford's productivity level was this low was during his sophomore year in the 2001-02 season.

Despite being in the twilight of his career, Crawford is still humble enough to learn from his mistakes. This is exactly why in choosing his next team, he has put fit above everything else.

For the 6-foot-5 guard, how he will potentially assimilate with a team is even more important than chasing a ring.

“ … I know people that care for me want me to win (an NBA title), but I don’t know if my career will be defined by that,” added Crawford.

With a little bit more gas left in the tank, it appears that unlike others, winning a championship for Crawford is no longer the most important thing at this point in his career.
