The Minnesota Timberwolves are coming off their fifth straight victory with a clutch overtime win over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, they may have suffered a key loss in the process.
Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague had left the game early after Nuggets guard Gary Harris collided into him during the final seconds of the fourth quarter.

While the severity of the injury is still unknown, the video suggests that the Timberwolves will likely take a cautious approach with Teague moving forward. That said, his potential absence spells bad news for a team that had been clicking on all cylinders as of late.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau is notorious for assigning heavy minutes to just a few players on the roster. Among them was Jeff Teague, who had been averaging 13.4 points, 7.3 assists, and 1.5 steals in 34.2 minutes per game this season.
As a result, the Timberwolves could once again turn to third-year point guard Tyus Jones for the time being. Thibodeau entrusted Jones with a heavy workload when Teague missed some time with Achilles soreness back in late November. He took advantage of his first two career starts with strong performances against both the Washington Wizards and New Orleans Pelicans.
According to an ESPN report, Jeff Teague is scheduled for an MRI Thursday morning to determine the severity of the injury and place a more accurate timetable on his recovery.
