The Minnesota Timberwolves got the best of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night for the second time in less than a week that featured another tightly contested game between both teams.

Following the game, All-Star forward Jimmy Butler had much praise toward the reigning league MVP, Russell Westbrook, while acknowledging their connection off the court through the Jordan Brand.

The two are both signed to Jordan Brand with Westbrook recently inking a 10-year contract extension with the company to become the longest-tenured professional athlete to work with them. Meanwhile, Butler has been under a deal for the last couple of years.

Westbrook has elevated his game over the last two years that all led to him joining Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson as the only players in league history to average a triple-double for an entire season. This alone has helped him significantly earn his first MVP award last season and his second straight All-NBA First Team selection.

All of this has also elevated him to being considered one of the top players in the league while earning a tremendous level of respect from his peers like Butler. Westbrook is already off to another MVP-caliber this season averaging a near triple-double with 22.6 points along with a league-best 12.0 assists and 9.2 rebounds in the first five games played.
