In an interview with ESPN's Rachel Nichols, Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Jimmy Butler confirmed that he lashed out in practice today. It was the first public comments Butler has made since requesting a trade almost four weeks ago.

Butler, who underwent an elective hand procedure in July, says Wednesday was the first time he played basketball in a while, and that his emotions got the best of him.

“A lot of it's true,” said Butler. “But I haven't played basketball in so long and I'm so passionate. I love the game and I don't do it for any other reason tor try to prove than I can hang. All my emotions came out at one time. Was it the right way to do it? No,  but I can't control that when I'm out there competing. That's raw me.”

So, ESPN was just conveniently in Minnesota on the day Butler practices with the team? This whole situation has to be staged. Butler and his camp are probably just trying to ease some of the pressure and vile feelings that are being thrown his way. It's obvious this whole thing was a set up.

Butler's reputation has been taking hit after hit this summer. There is no doubt Butler’s ego has risen since he entered the league back in 2011. The Chicago Bulls took a chance on Butler in the 2011 draft with the 30th pick, and watched the Texas native grow from a defensive specialist into one of the best two-way players in the league in a short amount of time.

The 2014-15 season was Butler’s breakout year. The 6-foot-7 swingman averaged 20.0 points per game and won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award. It was after that stellar campaign, however, when Jimmy Butler started to change and carry himself in a different manner. His behavior tends to rub teammates the wrong way.
