Four-time All Star guard Jimmy Butler has requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves following a meeting with team executives.

In the midst of the regular season quickly approaching, many around the league are wavering at the guard's decision on such short notice to package together any decent deal that may materialize into a legitimate trade. However, Butler himself believes that a trade can be done before the start of training camp in less than only a week, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic.

President and head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves Tom Thibodeau flew out to Los Angeles to meet with Butler about the his future with the team and the direction they'd be steering this season. The two sides couldn't come to an agreement apparently, as Butler informed the Wolves of three teams that he'd prefer to be traded to (with a likely chance of signing an extension).

Butler's request comes after often discord with teammate Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins, both of whom he's vocalized his discomfort for, especially with their lack of effort and casual attitude towards the game, among other concerns for himself such as contractual issues.

The New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, and Los Angeles Clippers are among Butler's top suitors in which he'd prefer to be shipped off to, giving either of those teams minimum time to assemble a package worthy of the Timberwolves' front office consideration.
