Karl-Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves is the latest high-profile player to be placed in the league's health and safety protocols. This development comes just a few hours prior to the Wolves' Thursday night matchup against the Utah Jazz.

Towns clearly isn't happy with this unexpected turn of events and he has since taken to Twitter to share his rather unsavory reaction to the same:

“Can’t catch a f*%@ing break!” Towns wrote.

The Timberwolves have been decimated by the spread of the virus within their squad, and Towns is now the seventh player that has been placed under COVID protocols. He will now join Anthony Edwards, Patrick Beverley, Josh Okogie, Jarred Vanderbilt, Taurean Prince, and McKinley Wright IV on Minnesota's growing list of COVID-positive players.

It is worth noting, however, that according to reports, the NBA and the NBPA are closing in on a major rule change pertaining to COVID protocols. The NBA is reportedly on the brink of reducing the mandatory quarantine period of players who test positive for COVID from 10 days down to just six days. This will clearly have a significant impact not only on the Timberwolves but on the rest of the league as well.

After Thursday's bout against the Jazz, the 15-16 Wolves return to action on Monday and Tuesday in a back-to-back set against the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks, respectively.
