Minnesota Timberwolves stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins are both questionable ahead of Monday's game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Towns has not played since Dec. 13 due to a knee injury. He was questionable for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but was ultimately ruled inactive. Wiggins also missed Saturday's game with flu-like symptoms.

Whether or not he can return to the Timberwolves on Monday, Wiggins' absence is less concerning. Towns' knee injury, on the other hand, is a bit more tenuous.  He was initially ruled as day-to-day, but he seemingly made little progress over the course of the last few weeks. Towns drew the questionable designation over the last two games, but he did not suit up for either contest.

The star big man was having arguably the best season of his career prior to the injury, averaging 26.5 points, 11.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists while also shooting close to 42 percent from beyond the arc on an astonishing 8.5 attempts per game.

Wiggins got off to a tremendous start for the Timberwolves but has faded a bit in December. Wiggins is still averaging 24.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists for the month, but he is also shooting below 29 percent from deep (after shooting close to 40 percent in November) and has a net rating of -18, according to Basketball Reference.

Interestingly enough, Wiggins' slide has coincided with a brutal month for the Timberwolves. Minnesota fell to 1-12 on the month after losing to the Cavaliers on Saturday, including losses to other lowly squads like the New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors.
