Following a frantic offseason for some teams and a glowing one for others, Karl-Anthony Towns shone light on his previous comments, where he seemed to have declared his Minnesota Timberwolves a dynasty after the acquisitions of Jimmy Butler and Jeff Teague.

“This is what dynasties are made of,” Towns previously stated after seeing the potential of the team's two additions plus fellow young stud Andrew Wiggins.

He later clarified his comments, knowing full well the Twin Cities haven't made the postseason in 13 years since Kevin Garnett once donned the uniform.

“I think it is way too early for that,” Towns told Sean Deveney of The Sporting News. “The Golden State Warriors, that is a dynasty. What the Spurs have had is a dynasty. Cleveland, because they’ve gone to the Finals and won a championship. It’s a goal we should set for ourselves, but I think it is too soon.”

Yet while being far from a dynasty, there is no denying that the Timberwolves look great on paper, bolstering not only their newly-fortified starting lineup, but adding the likes of Taj Gibson and Jamal Crawford to address areas of need — making them a team to look out for this upcoming season.

“For me, what everyone needs to know is that we’ve made great moves,” Towns said. “We made great moves to make ourselves better. I have been very fortunate to be with such a great franchise and the organization is going to do so well from here on out.”

“I think we are building a team that has a great sense of what it wants to be, and also adding players who ooze greatness and ooze winning, it’s just something that is contagious.”

Head coach Tom Thibodeau will look to translate those pieces from the drawing board into the court, hoping to challenge for a high playoff seed and make strides toward shaking things up in a loaded Western Conference.
