The All-Star game is this weekend, and Karl Anthony Towns of the Minnesota Timberwolves is excited to get his chance to play in the big game on Sunday night. Towns talked with Marc J. Spears of the Undefeated about his thoughts on the big game:

“I’ve been involved in Friday and Saturday, but I didn’t know how Sunday feels,” Towns said. “I’ve always left by that time. I’m already humbled. It’s going to be an emotional moment when I say, ‘Hey, I got to get ready for Sunday instead of just Friday and Saturday…I watched it all the time as a kid. That is the best time of the NBA year.”

Towns has competed in the Rising Star Challenge on Friday night, and the Skills Challenge on Saturday night, but this will be his first time suiting up for the All-Star Game.

He is having a really nice season averaging 20.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 blocks. He is also shooting an impressive 55 percent from the field.

In the All-Star game, he will be a reserve for Team Stephen where he will be playing alongside Timberwolves teammate Jimmy Butler who has some different feelings on the All-Star Game.

According to John Meyer of canishoopus Butler said:

Jimmy Butler said he doesn’t even want to play in the All-Star game, as he’s said before. He’d rather take time off and vacation with friends, which is obviously understandable. “What are you doing TG [Taj Gibson]?” … “Going to Jamaica with my girl.” Taj says he’s never been.

Even if Butler doesn't want to play, it will be another good experience to play alongside his teammates and some of the best of the NBA.
