It seems Duke forward Zion Williamson already has a fan in Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns.

Williamson is projected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft. According to CL Brown of The Athletic, Towns admires how the young star has handled the pressure thus far.

“I respect him, man, he has a lot of hype — you’re talking about LeBron-esque,” says Towns. “And he’s not coming out of high school. He had to go through college and every day people looking at him differently. I’m very proud of him for keeping his nose clean and playing at such a high level, especially at a program that’s as relentless as Duke.”

There is certainly plenty of truth to Towns' comments. Williamson has generated plenty of hype ever since his high school days playing like a man amongst boys. Although there were a lot of concerns regarding how he would fare in college, it was ultimately the same result. He finished his lone season at Duke winning every notable individual award, including the consensus National College Player of the Year and an All-American.

Of course, there is now even more pressure to perform in the NBA as the future No. 1 overall pick. Towns is well-aware of the hype that comes with being the top pick. Fortunately, Williamson has had plenty of experience in dealing with all the chatter and has done rather well for himself up to this point.
