Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns couldn't help but cry on Mother's Day as he remembers his mom, Jacqueline Towns, who passed away last year due to COVID-19.
On Sunday ahead of the Timberwolves' game against the Orlando Magic, KAT shared an emotional moment with his father, Karl Sr. Cameras spotted the Minnesota big man crying on his father's chest as the Towns patriarch hugged him.

Karl-Anthony Towns' pain is clear, and who can blame him? He has lost a lot in the past year, and it's not surprising why basketball is the last thing in his mind. It is the second Mother's Day since his mom passed away, but the pain of losing a loved one will never go away.
The Timberwolves star lost his mom in April of 2020 after Jacqueline battled COVID-19 for more than a month.
Moreover, it is worth noting that Towns lost more family members to the dreaded virus. As he admitted last December, six other family members succumbed to the disease, including a close uncle.

It has been a tough year for Towns, but he has remained strong and committed despite all the adversities he had to face and continues to fight. One can only hope he'll be able to stay strong with the help of his father and other family members and friends.
