Minnesota Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns has quickly become one of the better players in the entire NBA while also becoming a cornerstone of the Western Conference franchise. Upping the ante yet again on Sunday afternoon against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Towns moved up to third place on the team's all-time scoring list.

While now only trailing Minnesota legend Kevin Garnett and current Timberwolves swingman Andrew Wiggins on the list, Towns notably surpassed Sam Mitchell, who now sits in fourth place, on Sunday afternoon against the Thunder.

The 36-44 Timberwolves will not be playing postseason basketball as a result of the 2018-19 campaign. Nonetheless, Towns recently made a point to note that he would not be taking it slow down the stretch, which was once again quite evident over the weekend.

“I can't do that. I've got too much pride in playing,” Towns told Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic in regards to shutting it down. “I've got too much pride in being on the court w/ my guys. If [fans] worry about me getting hurt, I was much more hurt last year. I'm not too worried about that. This ain't nothin.”

Spending his entire NBA playing career in Minnesota as it stands today, the veteran big man was originally selected by the Timberwolves with the No. 1 overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NBA Draft out of Kentucky. Living up to the initial hype ever since Towns first strung together a one-year collegiate career for the Wildcats before immediately coming off the board to Minnesota.
