Minnesota Timberwolves star big man Karl-Anthony Towns will miss his 13th straight game on Saturday against the Houston Rockets.

Towns is still recovering from the left knee injury he suffered on Dec. 13 against the Los Angeles Clippers:

The Timberwolves are 15-22 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings.

Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 26.5 points, 11.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season. He’s shooting 51.4 percent from the field, 41.8 percent from beyond the arc and 79.6 percent from the free-throw line.

For the Timberwolves to reach the playoffs in the rugged Western Conference, they not only need Towns to be healthy, but another dynamic scorer next to KAT and Andrew Wiggins would help. Minnesota remains interested in acquiring All-Star point guard D’Angelo Russell from the Golden State Warriors despite what transpired this past summer, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

However, it doesn’t appear the Warriors are interested in moving Russell, so the Timberwolves will either have to move forward with their current roster or find another player to target via trade.

Hopefully Towns’ injury isn’t a long-term issue. He’s one of the best players in the NBA. Plus, the Timberwolves desperately need wins if they want to stay alive in the playoff race.
