Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Karl-Anthony Towns posted a cryptic photo on Instagram, which might have something to do with the start of the free-agency period in the NBA.

Towns posted a “Loading” photo on Instagram, which fueled speculation that he is hinting that the Timberwolves are about to acquire D'Angelo Russell, who is expected to find a new team this summer. Russell's handle on Twitter is “DLoading” and it is the reason why fans are thinking that Towns' post is about the former Brooklyn Nets guard.

According to Marc Stein of the New York Post, Russell and Towns have been talking about a possible partnership. The Timberwolves are reportedly looking for teams to arrange a trade that will eventually help them land Russell. Zach Lowe of ESPN also reported last month that the Timberwolves think they have a pathway to acquire Russell.

The 23-year-old point guard is coming off the best season of his career. He averaged a career-high 21.1 points on top of 7.0 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. His performance did not go unnoticed as he was named an All-Star for the first time in his young NBA career.

However, the Nets are not expected to keep him after making big moves at the start of free agency on Sunday. Brooklyn agreed to a deal with free agent superstars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. The Nets also added veterans DeAndre Jordan and Garrett Temple.
