According to several official reports, Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns was involved in a car accident on his way to the airport on Thursday. There were no reports of injury, but the team is listing him as questionable for Friday night's game against the Knicks.

Towns, now 23 years of age, has made 57 appearances with the Timberwolves this season (all starts), racking up averages of 23.1 points on 51.2 percent shooting from the field (38.9 percent from beyond the arc), 12.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.8 blocks and just under one steal (0.9) in 33.1 minutes per outing.

It would be a shame if Towns is forced to miss Friday's game. Believe it or not, he hasn't missed a single game in his NBA career (303). If he is unable to play, Gorgui Dieng and Anthony Tolliver would likely see an uptick in their usage rates.

In other Timberwolves-related injury news, Robert Covington seems to be nearing a return. He hasn't played a single game in 2019 due to a bone bruise in his left knee, but he seems to be recovering well. For now, he's scheduled to miss the next two games.

Friday's Timberwolves-Knicks game is scheduled to tip inside Madison Square Garden at 7:30 p.m. ET. Minnesota will be looking to earn a third straight victory for the fifth time this season.
