Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl Anthony-Towns gets emotional as he reveals his mother's battle with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

On Instagram, Towns shared an emotional video detailing that his mom has been tested positive with the infectious disease and is currently in coma.

Despite being clearly in pain and having a hard time to speak in the video, Towns remained strong and even encouraged everyone to be cautious and to practice the necessary measures to avoid the virus. The Timberwolves big man also expressed his belief that his mom can overcome the challenge because she is the strongest woman he knows.

“WE CAN BEAT THIS, BUT THIS IS SERIOUS AND WE NEED TO TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION.”

“Sharing my story in the hopes that everyone stays at home! We need more equipment and we need to help those medical personnel on the front lines. Thank you to the medical staff who are helping my mom. You are all the true heroes! Praying for all of us at this difficult time,” the 24-year-old Timberwolves star wrote in the caption.

The NBA is currently in a hiatus as the coronavirus continues to spread all over the world. The USA currently has the third-most cases, and there is no end in sight for the disease.

Hopefully for Karl-Anthony Towns' mom and everyone who contracted the disease, they will be able to fight through COVID-19. As for the rest in isolation, proper social distancing and good hygiene are recommended in order to prevent the virus.
