Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves will face the Golden State Warriors on Thursday at the Chase Center in preseason game No. 2 for both teams.

On his off day in The Bay, Towns had a funny interaction with someone. The Timberwolves star took to Twitter to explain it:

It looks like this person had no idea he was talking to one of the best basketball players in the world. Granted, the Timberwolves aren't on national television a lot, but Karl-Anthony Towns is a former No. 1 overall pick and a two-time All-Star.

It just goes to show even the brightest of stars can go unnoticed sometimes.

KAT averaged 24.4 points, 12.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists last season while shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from beyond the arc and 83.6 percent from the free-throw line. The Timberwolves star recorded 54 double-doubles, but Minnesota was unable to make the playoffs.

Towns is looking forward to having a full year of Ryan Saunders as his head coach. Saunders took over for Tom Thibodeau in January. The Timberwolves went 17-25 under Saunders last season.

Towns’ numbers and usage rate skyrocketed under Saunders. He put up 26.8 points and 12.4 rebounds per game under Saunders. Expect that to be the case this season as well.

The Timberwolves will have a hard time making the playoffs in the rugged Western Conference, and the franchise needs to surround KAT with more talent.
