To say Karl-Anthony Towns is excited about D'Angelo Russell being on the Minnesota Timberwolves would be an understatement.

Russell and Towns are very close friends, and with The Timberwolves desperately needing to make a change, the deal came at a great time.

It is also worth noting that they have lost 13 games in a row and the last time fans heard from Towns, he sounded really upset.

Now, Towns can't stop smiling and thinking about how lethal he and Russell are going to be as a duo moving forward.

Russell is averaging 23.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists on the season while shooting 43.0 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from beyond the arc and 78.5 percent from the free-throw line. Towns, meanwhile, is putting up 26.7 points, 10.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists this year.

Towns finally has an All-Star teammate to play with on the Timberwolves, and it should only motivate him to break the team's playoff drought.

Minnesota is listing D'Lo as a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. It would be an incredible story if Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell lead the Timberwolves on some epic run which lands them a postseason spot.
