Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns unfortunately lost his mother Jacqueline Towns to COVID-19 last April.

It’s been a tough year for Towns to say the least and the Timberwolves organization is doing everything they can to support their big man.

Before Sunday’s game versus the Chicago Bulls, the Timberwolves reserved a seat for Mrs. Towns, who always used to support her son in the past few years. Towns has been opened about how unfortunate and devastating this year has been for him so this gesture hopefully uplifts him.

This season, Towns is averaging 24.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He missed games this season because of COVID and a wrist injury. The Timberwolves also hired head coach Chris Finch this season so it’s been a fresh start for the organization. Moreover, they’ve seen some growth in first round pick Anthony Edward who’s been playing pretty well since the coaching change.

Edwards has been averaging 17.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists this season. Timberwolves starting point guard D'angelo Russell has finally come back after recovering from a knee injury.

Russell’s addition has been huge for the Timberwolves as he boosts the team’s scoring and passing.

The Timberwolves are currently dead last in the Western Conference with the record of 14-40. The Play-in tournament seems far fetched at this point so they might be looking ahead to their off season. They key for the Wolves has always been to be healthy which really hasn’t happened for them this season. However, they at least have bright future talents they can build around with in the next coming years
