Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Derrick Rose has suffered four knee injuries, all which have required surgery. However, the former MVP remains one of the fastest players in the NBA, something Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey spoke about on Wednesday.

The Pistons easily defeated the Timberwolves on Wednesday, but before the game, Casey told reporters that Rose is still one of the best players in the NBA at changing speeds and getting to the basket.

Rose isn't as athletic or fast as he used to be, but he's still impossible to stay in front of, especially in the open court.

In 49 games this season for the Timberwolves, Rose is averaging 18.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists per contest. The former No. 1 overall pick is shooting 48.0 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc and 85.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Timberwolves are probably not going to make the playoffs this season, but it's been fun to watch Rose have a resurgence in Minnesota. The Chicago native scored a career-high 50 points on Halloween against the Utah Jazz.

Rose will become an unrestricted free agent this summer. After having a good season in Minnesota, he could join a contender in the offseason.
