The newest members of the Minnesota Timberwolves, small forward Robert Covington, power forward Dario Saric and point guard Jerryd Bayless, were introduced to the media Tuesday but were unable to practice due to league rules.

The Timberwolves acquired the three players from the Philadelphia 76ers in the Jimmy Butler trade. The trade was made official Monday.

Assuming the league clears the new Timberwolves to practice later Tuesday, they should be available to play in Wednesday's game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Covington is one of the most underrated players in the NBA and a great 3-and-D player. The 27-year-old is averaging 11.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game this season while shooting 42.7 percent from the field, 39.0 percent from beyond the arc and 73.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Saric is putting up 11.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists on the year. The 24-year-old is shooting 36.4 percent from the floor, 30.0 percent from the 3-point line and 90.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Bayless hasn't played this season due to a sprain of the posterolateral corner in his left knee. It's unclear when he will be ready to suit up, but he's a solid veteran with playoff experience who can shoot the ball pretty well from beyond the arc.

The Timberwolves are 5-9 on the season after winning their first game of the post-Jimmy Butler era. Robert Covington and Dario Saric will immediately enter the rotation as key players who can provide shooting, with Covington also a terrific wing defender.
