The Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Golden State Warriors Monday night at Oracle Arena, and all signs point toward small forward Robert Covington returning to the lineup for Minnesota.

Robert Covington missed Saturday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers with right knee soreness.

Robert Covington is averaging 14.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 12 games with Minnesota while shooting 44.6 percent from the floor, 39.2 percent from the 3-point line and 82.8 percent from the charity stripe. The Timberwolves acquired the swingman from the Philadelphia 76ers in the Jimmy Butler trade.

Covington is regarded by many as one of the most underrated players in the NBA. He made the All-Defensive team last season with the Sixers and is on pace to make it again this year with the way he has turned around the Timberwolves’ defense. Beating Golden State at Oracle Arena is no easy task, but Minnesota has a better chance now that Covington appears to be playing.

The Timberwolves enter Monday with a record of 13-13, 10th place in the Western Conference. The team is coming off a loss to the Trail Blazers. Derrick Rose started in Covington's place on Saturday and finished with 18 points and nine assists. The former MVP will go back to the sixth-man role with Robert Covington back.
