The NBA released its rookie survey on Tuesday and the players weighed in on the biggest steal of the 2018 NBA Draft among other categories. Keita Bates-Diop out of Ohio State seems to have the respect of his fellow rookies. The former Buckeye isn't a big name, but he could surprise fans next season.

Bates-Diop was selected with the 48th pick and the former Big Ten Player of the Year could be a nice addition to the Minnesota Timberwolves moving forward. He dropped lower than many thought he would and Minnesota is hoping that teams around the league wind up regretting passing on him.

The former Ohio State standout is a long forward with the ability to clean the glass and put the ball in the bucket. He averaged 19.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game during his senior season. Bates-Diop spent four years in college and his game could be a bit more polished than some younger rookies coming into the league. Perhaps his experience will benefit him at the next level.

Bates-Diop received 13 percent of the vote. Michael Porter Jr. and Lonnie Walker IV were both just behind Bates-Diop with 10 percent of the vote each. Additionally, Jalen Brunson and Gary Trent Jr. each received six percent of the vote.

While these surveys don't mean much in the grand scheme of things, it should be noted that the 2017 rookie class voted Donovan Mitchell as the biggest steal in the draft. Of course, it's unfair to expect Bates-Diop to turn in a rookie season like Mitchell's, but it shows that rookie classes have chosen correctly before.
