Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Ryan Saunders knows his team is “in a funk right now.”

The Timberwolves have lost 11 games in a row and are still without All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who is dealing with a left knee injury.

“It's no secret, we're in a funk right now,” Saunders said, via ESPN. “But one thing I will say, for those of you who are around our team, we're still positive for the most part, but it hurts still. But we also need to understand, young team or not, we got to learn lessons in this league because you got to go through hard times to get to where you want to be. And we're in a hard time. And you come out of it together, and you learn about people, and you learn about individuals in that time.”

The Timberwolves are 10-19 on the season. They are in 13th place in the Western Conference standings.

It's unclear when Towns will return to the lineup. Since Minnesota appears on its way to missing the playoffs again, there's no point for the team to rush Towns back.

The Timberwolves will look to snap their 11-game losing streak on Thursday against the Sacramento Kings.
