Everything seems to be clicking for the Minnesota Timberwolves this year. After missing the postseason last year, the Timberwolves are now in fourth place in the tough Western Conference and look to be preparing for a deep playoff run in the postseason.

Karl Anthony-Towns, Jimmy Butler, and Andrew Wiggins have made the Timberwolves a league powerhouse, but sometimes there is trouble in paradise.

Shabazz Muhammad, who was once a regular contributor for the Timberwolves, has been taken completely out of the Timberwolves' lineup.

Now that the trade deadline has passed, it is plausible that he will seek a buyout in the next couple of weeks.

Per Sid Hartman of the Star Tribune, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor had some comments about Muhammad and his options regarding a potential buyout.

“Shabazz hasn’t gotten out on the floor to play very much, so he’s disappointed,” Taylor said. “He would like to get with a team that he could put in more minutes and show his skill-set. We have given the OK that if he finds such a team he can go to and wants to walk away, [he can] get out of our contract.”

Taylor went on to talk about the changes in the team's style affecting Muhammad's minutes.

“My goal is I wish he could get out there, he just hasn’t had the year he anticipated or that we anticipated…He has a different style of playing than anybody else. But on the other hand, if he can find another team that I think tells him he can get on the floor for sure, I think we’ll cooperate.”

Surely, there are some teams in the NBA that can use Muhammad's versatility and production off the bench. It is likely that Muhammad and the Timberwolves reach a buyout agreement somewhere down the line.

Muhammad just hasn't fit in with the new-look Timberwolves this season. The good news however is that Minnesota has become a force to be reckoned with in the tough Western Conference. New addition from the offseason, Butler, has a lot to do with the changes and possibly buying out Muhammad could open up some interesting potential for the team as they look to make sure they have the best roster possible for the postseason.
