The Detroit Pistons remained hot against the Minnesota Timberwolves earlier tonight, notching the team’s 10th win over their past 12 games. The Pistons stormed back from a 16-point deficit on their way to a solid 131 to 114 victory over Minnesota. While the game was an entertaining affair, perhaps the most notable highlight occurred early in the 4th quarter, when Taj Gibson of the Wolves leveled Andre Drummond of the Pistons with an elbow under the basket:

It didn’t necessarily seem like it was an intentional move, but Gibson was ejected nonetheless. Drummond, who had a mammoth night with 31 points and 15 rebounds, was extremely heated at Gibson and charged at him with intent while being restrained by his teammates.

Gibson, to his credit, was nonplussed and could be seen mouthing “You ain’t about that” in Drummond’s direction.

Clearly, Drummond and the Pistons got the last laugh, as they are currently sitting pretty with the sixth-best record in the Eastern Conference – currently in line for the playoffs with a first round matchup with the Indiana Pacers.

The Wolves, on the other hand, are trending in the wrong direction and are even behind the hapless Lakers in the Western Conference playoff hunt – meaning Minnesota will likely return to the lottery after its first playoff berth in 14 years last season.

This Pistons win gave them a two-game season sweep over Minnesota after a rollicking overtime takedown of the Wolves in mid-December.
