With the Minnesota Timberwolves' lopsided 102-82 loss on Wednesday night to the Houston Rockets in Game 2, the Wolves now find themselves down 2-0 with the series set to shift back to Minnesota for the next two games. One of the main reasons as to why they haven't been able to be successful so far this series is the lack of production from star center Karl-Anthony Towns.

During Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau's postgame press conference, he was asked by a reporter why Towns has not been able to get going so far this series against Houston.

“They're doing a good job on him. When you're doing the things that they're doing, which is double-teaming him, he has to play with energy. He's got to run the floor,” coach Thibodeau said.

Towns, who had just eight points and 12 rebounds in Game 1, followed that up with an even more disappointing offensive game on Wednesday night with just five points on 2-of-9 shooting from the field. All five of those points were scored in the first quarter, as well.

“No time to be frustrated. Too much focus and positive energy have to go into it the right way. There ain't no time for negative, ain't no time for frustration, there ain't no time to hang your head down,” Towns said after the game, via Fox Sports North. “I think we all got to be better, including myself. Just got to find ways. Like I said, there's no time for negativity.”

Despite such a lackluster offensive performance from Towns on Sunday night, the Wolves were able to keep up with the Rockets and were edged 104-101 in Game 1. Minnesota will head home for Game 3 on Saturday night and look to get back into this series.
