Back in May, rumors circulated surrounding the alleged strained relationship between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the team’s prized big man Karl-Anthony Towns. That rumor did not get a prolonged exposure, and it was soon left in the backseat of the never-ending NBA news cycle.

But perhaps in an attempt to squash any remaining concerns about the rapport between Towns and the Timberwolves, Minnesota head coach and president of basketball operations Tom Thibodeau assured everyone that everything is fine in Wolves nation, per Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune.

Asked if all is well in relations with Towns, Thibodeau said, “Yeah, yeah. He’s doing quite well. And I love KAT. He has had a terrific start to his career. He’s doing a little bit of traveling right now. Jimmy [Butler] is doing a little bit of traveling as well. So we’ve got two world travelers right now, but they’ll be back shortly. To get to where we are — obviously we’re not ultimately where we want to be, but it was a major step forward — you can’t do it individually. It’s got to be the whole group doing it together. And for the most part, I think we are in a good place.”

Towns was previously reported as being unhappy about the way he was utilized by Minnesota, especially during the playoffs. The former Kentucky Wildcats star saw his scoring average dip in the postseason to just 15.2 points per game after putting up 21.3 a night back in the regular season.

Nevertheless, it’s reassuring for Timberwolves fans to hear that Towns and Minnesota are in good terms. Towns is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2018-19 season.
