Any time one of the game's best players steps aside for you, you know you're doing something right, and that's exactly what happened to Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns on Tuesday night.

A great player in his own right, Towns pulled off a slam so ridiculous that Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant just stood and watched.

Early in the first quarter, Timberwolves point guard Tyus Jones dished the ball to Towns beyond the three-point line. He charged all the way to the hoop and part Durant for the slam.

Towns, 23, is one of the league's brightest young stars. The big man has been named an All-Star each of the past two seasons. This year, he is averaging 24.6 points, 12.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 52.3%. He has scored the ninth-most points in the league and ranks sixth overall in total rebounds.

Luckily for Minnesota, Towns will be around for a while. He signed a five year, $190 million super-max extension with the team last September. He is not eligible for free agency until after the 2023-24 season.

The Timberwolves have fallen out of the race and are on the brink of elimination. The Los Angeles Clippers have been red-hot as of late and all but locked in the last playoff spot in the Western Conference. At 32-28, it's just too late for Minnesota to bounce back.

They are at home to take on the first-seed Warriors on Tuesday night.

While Golden State has struggled as of late, they are still one of the game's best teams and currently lead Minnesota at halftime.
