In Jimmy Butler's meeting with Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau, the 29-year-old requested for a trade. But prior to the meeting, Minnesota's players already heard whispers with regard to Butler's wishes, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

In the said meeting, Butler listed the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, and L.A. Clippers as his next desired destination. From the three teams, Los Angeles seems to be Butler's favorite since when he was still with the Chicago Bulls, he already expressed his desire to play there. In addition, sources reveal that a deal with the Miami Heat is also possible.

Butler's request comes in after a series of rumors involving him and his teammates. Reports reveal that he's not exactly seeing eye-to-eye with young stars Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns mainly due to their work ethic and approach to poor performances in the playoffs.

Though there's no conclusive evidence of the apparent rift, some say that Wiggins felt out of place upon the arrival of Butler. After all, Wiggins was touted as the Timberwolves' next franchise player. Yet with the team's trade for Butler, it became pretty clear that the Wolves will not be Wiggins' team for the foreseeable future.

The next coming days will be eventful for the NBA. Not just because training camp is about to begin, but due to another superstar wanting a change in scenery.
