The Minnesota Timberwolves are in the midst of a terrible season, and many fans are clamoring for them to go into full-blown tank mode to finish out this campaign. The Timberwolves had other ideas Wednesday night against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat, erasing a late 12-point deficit to steal a 129-126 victory.

While the win was only Minnesota's 17th of the season, president Gersson Rosas decided to take to Twitter to deliver a little smack talk:

This may seem a bit brash given the Timberwolves' 17-40 record, but this victory had to feel good given it came against Butler. While Butler helped end Minnesota's lengthy playoff drought a few years ago, fans won't forget his antics that ultimately resulted in his trade to the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Timberwolves erased the Heat's late lead by forcing Butler into a series of turnovers, with newcomer D'Angelo Russell playing a key role on both ends of the floor. Minnesota blocked Butler's potential game-winning shot at the basket in the final seconds.

Russell put up a game-high 27 points to go along with six assists, five rebounds and three steals in the thrilling road win. Minnesota had been on a five-game losing streak, with Karl-Anthony Towns still out with a wrist injury.

Rosas and the Timberwolves will accept any glimmer of hope right now, so forgive him for speaking out amid a miserable season.
